What is A sno-ball??

The history of the sno-ball can be relatively contentious as both New Orleans and Baltimore lay claim to this delicious treat. The Snowy Flamingo Sno-Balls are New Orleans style. They originated there in the 1930’s.

Commonly confused as a snow cone, sno-balls are very finely shaven ice with rich syrup ,and in our humble opinion, far superior to your average crunchy, watery, snow cone.

Ernest Hansen may as well be the god-father of sno-balls considering he created the first motorized ice shaving machine as well as opening Hansen’s Sno-Bliz which was the first brick and mortar sno-ball establishment in New Orleans!

Of course, over time, everyone has added their own unique twist to the sno-ball (including us). But that signature fluffy, soft, ice with thick, rich, delicious syrups will always be what makes the sno-ball everyone’s favorite dessert!
